Today we talked about our Architecture & Urban assignment. Joseph told us about photography ethics and respecting your subject. He also told us about our rights as photographers. It was an interesting and thought provoking discussion.
I look forward to this project. I'm a little worried because we only have three or four weeks to take more photos than our last assignment. But I'm also excited. The last time I shot in the city with a nice camera was with Joseph, Lauryn, and Kelsey last fall. It went really well and I got some excellent photos with very little photography experience. Portland is a unique and beautiful city and I think I have an eye for things unique and beautiful. I hope top capture Portland in it's most majestic light.

Shooting Exercise and Edit- Architecture
This Monday we split up into groups and went out looking for something vibrant and or out of the way that no one would notice. I thought the shoot was really fun. I had a good group, took some great photos, and got valuable practice shooting.
I took this photo. I was intrigued by the uniqueness and detail that can be held in such a small unnoticeable thing like moss. It was painfully overexposed but after editing I think the previous overexposure left the final edit with a glowing feel which I love. I tried to bring out the colours but not have to much background details to distract from the moss.
This photo was taken by Kelsey. It was beautifully gloomy and grey photo and the obvious way to edit it would have been to make it grey and gloomy. But I attempted to change the mood quite a bit. I framed the branches differently to make it less sad and I brought out the blue sky that was previously not visible at all. It was a challenge but I'm happy with the result.
I LOVE EDITING! I've never edited others photos which is almost more fun! 'Tis exciting.
